Governor Ron DeSantis has honoured wrestling legend Hulk Hogan by naming a two-mile section of the Clearwater Trail as the Hulk Hogan Trail. The announcement was made during a press conference at Hogan's Hangout, with Hulk Hogan's son Nick expressing gratitude for the dedication.
The newly named Hulk Hogan Trail stretches between Oak Avenue and Clearwater Drive. It will feature exercise stations, including pull-up bars, encouraging fitness enthusiasts to work out while enjoying the scenic route. The renaming is a tribute to Hulk Hogan's impact on the community, as his homes and businesses are located in Clearwater Beach.
Governor DeSantis had the idea to honour Hulk Hogan, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. The state even declared August 1 as Hulk Hogan Day. Jimmy 'Mouth of the South' Hart, a long-time friend of Hulk Hogan, joked about the press conference, saying Hulk Hogan would be proud of the event.
The Hulk Hogan Trail will serve as a lasting reminder of the wrestler's legacy in Clearwater. The trail's renaming ensures that Hulk Hogan's name will live on in the community he loved, with exercise stations providing a fitting tribute to his larger-than-life persona.
