Karlsruher SC to Play Behind Closed Doors Against Hoffenheim

Karlsruher SC will face TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in an upcoming match, with the game taking place behind closed doors. The fixture, scheduled for Thursday, will see Christian Eichner's team field a "mixed team" consisting of regular starters and players from the second tier.

One notable absence will be Philipp Förster, who is still recovering from illness and will not feature in the match. On a positive note, the newly signed striker Shio Fukuda is expected to gain more game experience, having made his debut for the club in their last match in Düsseldorf.

Leon Opitz, on loan from Bremen, is set to make his debut for Karlsruher SC. However, Fabian Schleusener will not be part of the team, as he has joined Polish top-flight side Rakow Czestochowa. It's worth noting that Schleusener's move to Ulm fell through at the last minute due to the failed loan of Cologne's Imad Rondic.

Meanwhile, Koki Machida, who was injured during the match against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on September 9, 2021, is still recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

Elsewhere, Dzenis Burnic will be on international duty with the Bosnian national team, missing the match against Hoffenheim. He will be away for the World Cup qualifiers against San Marino on Saturday and Austria on Tuesday. Rafael Pinto Pedrosa, on the other hand, will prepare with the German U19 team for international matches against Italy on Saturday and in Croatia on Tuesday.

The game will be played at Wildpark, with Karlsruher SC aiming to continue their successful start. As the fourth-placed team in the second division (with 8 points), they will strive to maintain their position against the current bottom side from Nuremberg (1 point).

Despite the challenges, Karlsruher SC is determined to put up a strong fight against Hoffenheim. The team is eager to build on their 0:0 draw in their last match and secure a positive result in their upcoming encounter.
