Casino Heist Unsuccessful at Little Creek, Potential Link to Another Tribal Casino Theft
In early August 2025, a series of casino robberies occurred in Washington state, involving both the Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton and the Silver Reef Casino near Ferndale.
On August 9, 2025, the Little Creek Casino Resort, owned by the Squaxin Island Tribe, was the target of an attempted robbery. The suspect, described as a Hispanic man around 5'7'' tall with a small build, approached the casino's cage, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash from the cashier. However, the cashier informed the robber that the register was empty, causing the suspect to leave without obtaining any money.
The suspect was last seen running towards Highway 101 and out of sight. He was wearing a gray or dark flannel button-up shirt, dark gray pants, dark "Romeo" style boots, a light gray hat with a white Nike logo, and sunglasses.
The Mason County Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance in identifying the robber. Anyone with information is asked to contact the office via 911.
There is a speculation that the suspect in the Little Creek Casino Resort robbery may be connected to a robbery at the Silver Reef Casino in Ferndale, which occurred about a week before the Little Creek Casino Resort incident. The Silver Reef Casino is located south of the Canadian border, about a three-hour drive north of Little Creek Casino Resort.
In the Silver Reef Casino robbery, the suspect was described as a bearded man with tattoos, wearing black clothing. No employees were hurt in that incident.
Although the suspects in the two casinos appear different, the suspect arrested for the Little Creek robbery was implicated in multiple casino thefts according to authorities. This suggests a linked series of casino-related crimes in the region in early August 2025.
The Little Creek Casino Resort features a 200-room hotel, an RV park, six restaurants and bars, an event center, the Seven Inlets Spa, and the Salish Cliffs Golf Club. The resort also has 750 slot machines, 28 table games, and an IGT PlaySports Sportsbook.
No arrests have been made in connection with the robbery at the Little Creek Casino Resort. The tribal resort remains open and operational, providing entertainment and relaxation to its visitors.
